1. About These Terms

These Terms and Conditions govern your use of the OlderRide platform, including our website and any related services (collectively, the "Platform"). By creating an account or using the Platform, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use OlderRide.

OlderRide operates in the Wheatbelt region of Western Australia and is subject to Australian law.

  • Be ready at your pick-up location at the agreed time
  • Treat drivers with respect and dignity
  • Pay any applicable co-contribution amounts as agreed

4. Driver Terms

As a driver, you agree to:

  • Maintain a roadworthy, registered, and comprehensively insured vehicle
  • Hold a current National Police Check (renewed every 3 years)

5. Driver Verification

All drivers must complete OlderRide's verification process before accepting any trips. This includes uploading a current driver's licence, vehicle registration, vehicle insurance, and National Police Check. OlderRide reserves the right to reject or suspend any driver who does not meet our standards or whose documents are found to be invalid or expired.

6. Bookings and Cancellations

Bookings are confirmed by OlderRide staff by phone or SMS. We reserve the right to cancel or reschedule bookings due to driver unavailability, weather, or other circumstances beyond our control. Riders should provide as much notice as possible when cancelling a booking. Repeated late cancellations may result in account suspension.

7. Aged Care Funding

OlderRide operates under Commonwealth Home Support Programme (CHSP) and Home Care Package (HCP) funding frameworks. Riders must have a valid My Aged Care number to access subsidised transport. You are responsible for ensuring your aged care funding is current and applicable to transport services. OlderRide is not responsible for changes to your funding status or eligibility.

8. Payments and Co-Contributions

Co-contribution amounts are set by OlderRide staff in accordance with aged care funding guidelines, based on round-trip distance or an approved custom amount. Payment is arranged directly with OlderRide — our finance team will advise riders of amounts due.

9. Acceptable Use

You must not use OlderRide to:

  • Provide false or misleading information
  • Harass, threaten, or discriminate against other users
  • Attempt to access accounts or data that are not yours
  • Interfere with the operation of the Platform
  • Use the Platform for any commercial purpose not authorised by OlderRide

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, OlderRide is not liable for:

  • Any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from your use of the Platform
  • Actions or omissions of drivers or riders
  • Loss or damage to personal property during transport
  • Service interruptions due to technical issues beyond our reasonable control

Nothing in these terms limits any rights you may have under the Australian Consumer Law.

11. Account Suspension and Termination

OlderRide reserves the right to suspend or terminate any account that violates these terms, engages in fraudulent activity, or poses a risk to the safety of other users. Drivers whose licences, insurance, or police checks expire will be suspended until valid documents are provided.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms and Conditions from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by email or through the Platform. Continued use of OlderRide after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
